A really interesting post. I have recently given myself permission to use screens over a book when I feel the need. Yesterday I spent the afternoon on the couch binging an old series of English Bake off.

I think screens have a place in our life. And GBBO is a comfort watch of mine & have spent many a day whiling away the hours watching it.

Boy does it feel good to be unabashedly yourself. Such a wonderful feeling.

Also I am nuts for Mhair Macfarlane. :o)

I'm beside you with the hating exercise thing. I walk everyday because mostly i enjoy it but also i'm a moody grumpy cow if i don't. I do yoga classes because i do enjoy it, but i enjoy the social coffee after more and i swim once a week because being in the warm pool guarantees me of 30 mins without pain. I DO NOT do gym stuff and absolutely know i 'should' be doing something strength wise, but i don't.

I loved the permission slip idea, but also felt so sad that i even needed to do one, i know i just want someone to give me permission to do or not do things, why can't i just give myself the bloody permission, ffs im not 8 yrs old!

I like walking & yoga AFTER I've done them. I'm naturally lazy & would choose sitting & reading over any form of physical activity, but I know they are helpful, so I do them.

Nobody is going to give you permission,& you don't need theirs; you need yours, so give it to yourself, Kate.
