100% yes to this! Alarm at the same time each morning and out for the same morning walk along the same route, past the same man out for a walk, the same dogs getting walked, the same lady feeding the birds, the same cat out on the footpath waiting for a pat. I make work lunches x10 for me and my partner on the weekends so we don’t have to think about. I meal plan on a Friday and shop on Saturday morning. Routine and sameness are my saviour. Glad to hear this is easing your mind and making life easier.
I have a colour palate I use when buying new stuff for me and a style now too. I know what I feel comfy in and that’s all I look at. I eat the same breakfast everyday and I love it. I have a meal plan kind of like yours it makes my life so much easier. I get up at the same time and go to bed at the same time. Roughly I’m not super strict but my body is ready now at those times. I don’t listen to anything when I walk, brain was fried and needed a break from inputs. If a job will take me less than 2 mins I do it immediately, other house chores have their day and I mostly try to stick to that. I do sometimes worry I’m becoming a bit dull but routines and rhythms work for me.
They talked about making a decision and moving on. Kind of like your decide once idea.
Sometimes I get lost in the researching and trying to get it right without actually doing anything. I like the idea make a decision move on if it doesn’t work that’s ok learn from it make another decision and move on.
I like hearing about how you have things down pat. I think researching stuff has its place but I am realising that for my day-to-day life, doing the same shit over & over again is what makes me happiest & life easier.
oh they aren't always down pat, but i try. I'm just getting back on track since being sick in June and then inner rebel saying change it up, you're boring blah blah blah, turns out i just dither and do very little without a routine
The Green’s shaker protein pancakes are excellent! I recently bought the Kodiak brand from Costco & they are good, nice & fluffy, but have a real “healthy” taste to them thanks to the oats & wholemeal flour.
I don’t know how interesting my wardrobe is but I will think about what else i could share x
I read recently about if a task is only going to take you 60 secs or less to just do it then and there. I've really noticed how that's helped me get things done. Mostly just picking up around the house, but it all adds up
Love your plans to get your life firing on all cylinders!

I am learning that sameness is a saviour! And I think your morning walk sounds utterly delightful x

Remember when we talked about how boring is fine, how we like boring? Boring is fine. Routine is fine. Do what works for you & fuck the rest x
I did think of that convo when i was typing boring lol
You’re following through! With your Substack!
I certainly am trying :)
Hell yes, to sensory rest. I get motivated/good ideas in the shower and on my walks but think I need a longer session like you did in the garden!
I’ve printed out a financial tracker and put it on the fridge, and a walking tracker into my notebook. Small wins!
Your breakfasts sound great. is your pancakes mix from Woolies? What do you have on them?
Please share more about your wardrobe! Your colour palette sounds nice and a really good idea! Xx

We finally tried the pancakes lol. Big tick! Thanks

that’s what I’m noticing too, that if I just do those small household things straight away it makes a huge difference overall.
thank you!
