Big hugs to you after achieving so much today xx Really. That’s some big stuff going on R. Tonight I had two big kids say to me they’re looking forward to getting back into it routine after weeks of holidays. Same same but different. Sleep well tonight xx I’ve finished my book!
You did so much today! I am exactly the same, I love routine and school hols always throw everything off. I much prefer the structure of having to get up at a certain time, but find it so hard to enforce if it’s me arbitrarily deciding rather than it being necessary for some other reason. The home schooling does sound hard, I can sympathise with needing your own space. Maybe that’s something that can be built into your days too? Even if it’s just the walking or the gym?
The gym is kinda my me time, it’s the place where nobody wants anything from me so maybe I’ll like it more once I don’t have any time alone at home lol
I am a very routine person, it’s the way I get stuff done. My inner rebel does arc up after awhile but I’m getting better at not letting get completely trash my rhythm. I just can’t see any point wasting valuable and limited mental space deciding the same shit every day. Hence I eat the same breakfast and love it, do the same early chores in the same order everyday, walk at the same time and place every morning. Eat the same 2 or 3 lunches. Go to bed at the same time. You get the picture.
I also feel so much better when I book the appts, pay the bills, asap. That shit takes up too much of my precious brain space. I also carry a pocket notebook and write tomorrow’s list each night. And make notes during the day, it gives my brain a rest from remembering which I find exhausting.
I think you are doing a great job of working your way into a better place for you.
I would never think of myself as a rebel but maybe some part of me does rebel? I actually think it’s more that I’m not as competant as I once was so I fall in a heap more often. Either way I know I have to keep a routine so that all the non-routine things don’t feel so hard.
And I need to be making lists before too. Winging it does not work at all.

Add another star to your chart.

Thanks for the star x
oh i am most definitely not a rebel, but clearly have an inner rebel, who rebels against me.
writing my list helps me to sleep, I'm not afraid of forgetting something.
I bet you are actually more competent, but you are busier and under more pressure.
