I really enjoyed reading about your book news. I did a big clean up in my bookshelves a few weeks ago. Pulled every book off and dusted them. Pulled the shelves out from the walls and cleaned up all the spiders and their dead food ha ha. Such a disgusting mess. Got rid of a few books and then rearranged them all. Such a good feeling.

I read 56 books in 2024 which was a record for me. I had a shit year at work and was suffering from chronic stress so just lost myself in books any time I had to spare. I probably won't get through that many this year, but I'll give it a good crack. Only onto my second one now and I have 2 audio books on the go as well.

I'm trying to read all the books from my shelves then I pop them out into my little street library that my hubby built me so others can enjoy them as well.

Have you read the book The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins? I think you would enjoy it.

I'm looking forward to reading your monthly wrap ups.

I hope 2025 is kinder to you this year xoxo Denise

You did a WAY better job of cleaning your shelves than I did! I only moved books around!

56 books a year is an amazing effort. And escaping into a book instead of mindlessly scrolling (like I did for the last quarter of the year) is the way to go.

Funny you should mention the Mel robins book, I was wondering if I should listen to it as an audio book. I tried one of her podcasts before but she wasn’t for me. Do you like her pod?

I haven't really listened to many of her podcasts. I am listening to the book on audio & I am enjoying it. So many people have said how it has changed their lives so thought I'd have a listen and I have really enjoyed it so far. Let me know what you think if you end up listening to it.

I like your little library and journalling space, R, and enjoy reading your thoughts about them.

I liked Crazy Rich Asians, too.

I’ve read 2 books in ‘25! (Well, I started one last year.) Both by NZ authors and autobiographical. Now ready for something completely different: Pip’s book club book. (Our summer is virtually nonexistent so the wintry setting will be apt.)

I’ve got a cute little flip top notebook which I’m going to use for a shopping list…not groceries!

I like the sound of your monthly list-posts, but no pressure xx

I’ve only ever watched the movie of CRA & I’ve seen the book on so many opshops so I thought maybe it was time I read it!

I’ve started Pip’s BC pick but it’s a hefty book so it’ll take me some time.
