Life Notes #2
Small grabs from daily life
Things I do when I am trying to stay off the internet. I won’t lie, I am failing very badly at staying off the internet. I don’t know what I’m looking for when I go flitting about on there, but I just can’t seem to stop myself right now.
A herb bouquet from a friend’s garden.
The last of this season’s sunflowers. Now I need to collect all the seeds before the birds get them so we can have even more next season.
Leftovers for breakfast. I must try to cook more than is needed more often because this was great!
I got a new lip gloss & I LOVE it. It has a hint of colour, which I like because otherwise my lips look the same colour as my face. It’s nice & glossy, feels really creamy on your lips but not at all sticky.
Sadie made a batch of our favourite cookies all by herself! And they were perfect!
Gozleme Friday’s is our new thing. I have mine with spinach, haloumi & Cholula hot sauce.
With some shitty family stuff happening, my sister flew over with her 3 kids & my mum (my mum lives with my sister & her family in NZ). That means I got to meet my newest nephew, Nash, & snuggle, swim & be silly with my little nieces. Gosh, it’s been nice!
This is my salad of the moment. It is chopped kale, red & green cabbage, cos lettuce, baby spinach & red onion. I make a big batch so we can eat it for 2 days. I like making this dressing or this Caesar dressing to have with it. We’ve been eating alongside bbq meats, wings, chicken schnitzels or zuchinni slice.
On Sunday, Sadie & I went op-shopping. She found nothing, but I got this cute print & a stack of books. Sadie asked me why I was buying MORE books when I already have so many. I have no real answer except that being surrounded by books makes me really happy.
And that’s the week that was! I haven’t been sleeping well & then I got a sore throat, but because the kids are still on school holidays, everything has felt semi-manageable. The weekend had a good mix of getting things done & relaxing. I’ve got to hang a load of towels ( I had been wondering where all our towels were & then Blake cleaned his room. Bloody kids!) out before I go to work, so I’ll leave it here.
Talk soon xx

Sorry to hear about the sh*tty stuff. Thinking of ya. Loved reading this. Felt comforting and crunchy and colourful. x
