Hi friends! Look at me doing what I said I would and being here with a monthly re-cap. Having no posting schedule works for me but I do enjoy the thought of having a little time capsule here within these monthly posts too. Can I make it three in a row?!
READING: it’s been a fairly good reading month with 5 audiobooks and four physical books. I’m going to start Jojo Moye’s latest book tonight followed by Rachel Johns's newest one.
PLAYING: the new Yung Lean song on repeat. This is one of my eldest sons favourite artist and his stuff if not usually my thing but I love this song, especially that beat, SO much.
WATCHING: more Youtube than ever. I’ve started White Lotus season 3 and OF COURSE, I’m watching The Kardashians every Friday night.
TRYING: Overnight Weetbix! I thought I’d hate it but I don’t! I make two at a time, eat 3/4 of it for breakfast and then have the rest as an afternoon snack.
COOKING: still nothing of interest. When will my cooking mojo come back????
EATING: Utopia ice creams from Aldi every night after dinner. They are like Magnums but cheaper and IMO, nicer. Also, quite a few bagels!

PINNING/SAVING: outfits. I know I keep saying this but I REALLY want to find a serotonin, capsule wardrobe that makes me feel comfortable and confident. Below are some of my recent pins.
MAKING: charts & lists & schedules. Doing these things calm me and help me keep focus.
LOVING: audiobooks so much right now. The Jojo Moyes series Me Before You was excellent. I miss the characters, mostly Lou, & the narrator keeping me company each day.
DISLIKING: the weather. It’s hot, humid and gross.Perth weather doesn’t really play to the European calendar when it comes to seasons, it aligns more closely to the Noongar Six Seasons, so it’ll likely be April before we see cooler weather set in.
ENJOYING: having pockets of time for myself now that the kids are back in school. I enjoy having the house to myself for a little bit most days.
FEELING: excited because I have booked flights to Melbourne to visit our secondborn and his GF for easter!!! It’ll be me and the little kids (Tim’s staying back to work) in the city for 9 days. Hit me up with your Melbourne recs!
LISTENING: I can’t stop with Chappell Roan. The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess is an excellent album. Fingers crossed she tours here.
INSPIRED: I cannot think of a single thing right now but that doesn't mean I wasn’t inspired. It means I am shit at remembering things and keeping track of things.
ADMIRING: these shoes but I cannot spend that kind of money on shoes, well, at least not shoes I haven’t tried on. If I see them in a store and they are comfortable and i am feeling rich I might treat myself.
BUYING: Nonna knives! Deb, of Smitten Kitchen fame, shared this video & it’s my local Italian grocer!!! So the next time I drove by Napoli Mercato, I stopped to buy a Nonna knife but ended up buying a 6 pack instead (I think they were only $18)! They are now my favourite knives, especially for slicing tomatoes and cutting open bread rolls.
NOTICING: the everyday beauty in suburban life. Two teen boys standing on the edge of the carpark chatting at dusk. Houses that have christmas lights up all year round. Rambling roses and bougenvillia spilling over fences. A group of old ladies chatting and laughing as they walk out of the country club. Librarians that recognise you.
WORKING: on staying on top of the laundry. My idea of staying on top of the laundry is having clean uniforms for those in the house that need them and not doing more than two loads at any given time. I will allow a third if it’s sheets or towels. If a basket sits unfolded on the loungroom floor for 3 days that is still staying on top of the laundry.
WEARING: shapless clothes. I am learning to be ok with not trying to minimise my stomach area. It is what it is- round, big and soft- so why try to hide it?
OP-SHOPPED: many books and some Levi’s off Depop. Straight wedgies are my favourite style, I now have 4 pairs, all secondhand, and I love them. Very 90’s. Very easy to wear.
That’s all for now friends. We are heading off to Albany for motocross over the long weekend so we will get some cooler weather and a little time. by the sea. Until next time….
Talk soon xx

Loved reading your recap.
I love your outfit pins, they look very much like the way I'd like to dress. Why don't I? no f%*&ing idea
also the nonna knife, yes I must search some out here, probably don't exist in our uncultured part of the world.
